Assalamu alaikum!
We started off our day today reciting our morning du'aa as well as our 6 other monthly du'aas. The children then had Quraan class with teacher Ibtissam and they are working on surat al-Qari'a, please help your child practice this sura at home.
During period two we read our morning message, it was about the importance of telling the truth. We are starting our 3D shapes unit in math, today we learned the differences between a rectangular prism, cube, and cylinder. How many faces do they have? Do they roll? Do they slide? What shapes are the faces?
During period 3 the children had Arabic they were introduced to the letter ض-Daad, they are learning words that begin with this letter.
Period 4 we had gym class and we played a nice game of soccer baseball. The class was divided into two teams; the red team and the green team. At first it was a little bit tricky for the children to get the hang of the game but masha'Allah once they got it they were doing great. Our MVP for today was Areeb, masha'Allah he was quick in his thinking and managed to touch 4 players from the other team and got them out!
In the afternoon we had our reading program, this week it was the orange, red, and green group's turn. Once again I am very thankful to our volunteers for running this program, insha'Allah we will see the benefits of small group reading.
We have started a warm and fuzzy jar, this is to encourage students to be nice, kind, and gentle with each other. Feel free to give your child ideas on how they can be kind, nice, and gentle in the classroom.
Have a great evening everyone!
