Talent Show Wednesday

Assalamu alaikum,

today we started off our day with some educational centres.  Masha'Allah I am very impressed with our students' creativity and problem solving abilities.  The class took part in different activity centres: tangram puzzles, snakes and ladders, dominoes, memory game, play dough, and art centre.

After morning snack the class got to watch this year's Talent Show, masha'Allah it was very inspiring to see Abraar Students performing so comfortably on the stage.  I hope to see some of my students gracing the stage during next year's talent show (start thinking of developing their talents from now!).

For outdoor recess the students had the chance to play in the city park before it closes down for maintenance on May 2nd.

In the afternoon we had show & tell and practiced our "COMPASSION" song, insha'Allah our class will be running the character assembly in front of the entire school.

The students ended the day with a visit to the computer lab.

Have a great afternoon!

Earth Day

Assalamu Alaikum everyone!

Our theme for today was Earth Day, I was wearing my special Earth Day shirt.  We had a wonderful discussion about how we can all work together to take care of this amana that Allah swt has given us.
The students brought up the 3 R's: Reduce, reuse, and recycle!

We had a lot of fun in gym class playing the planets game.  This game teaches the children to listen carefully to instructions, and not to have a meltdown when they don't win in a game.

In phonics we worked on the letter Ww, and we brainstormed for words that begin with the letter Ww.  We really missed our friend Wateen during this lesson!

In the afternoon we prayed together, and made du'aa together.  As our special treat on Fridays we got to watch an episode of Paw Patrol.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Tuesday, April 5th

Assalamu alaikum everyone!

It was great being back in the classroom after being away yesterday.  It seems that many of the children have forgotten our STAR rules, so we spent some time this morning going over the classroom rules, and routines.

In the morning we had some fun with some mine-boggling puzzles.  The class had French with monsieur Said followed by Quraan with teacher Ibtissam.  The homework for Quraan class is to review all of surat Al-Qadr, please help your child memorize this sura at home.

During Arabic class there was a special visitor sitting in today, it was Dr.Saleem! The kids were very excited about having him in the class with us.

We took a new sound today it is the sound that the letters -ie make when they are together, as in the word pie, tie, lie, die etc.

In the afternoon we read a little bit from Charlotte's Web, and we look forward to finishing the book tomorrow insha'Allah.

Have a good evening!
