SK2 Updates Nov. 28 - Dec.9
As-salamu-alaikum wa Rahmatullah Dear Parents,I hope and pray that all of you are doing well insha'Allah. We had a productive and fun weeks of learning alhamdullilah!
Below are some updates from our classroom.
This month's trait according to our character education program is Responsibility.Our student will be exposed to different opportunities of practicing responsibilities at school insha'Allah. We encourage to you to start a conversation on how your children can be responsible at home. We are going to learn about how to perform prayer next term inshaAllah. We will focus on performing wudu correctly this term.
We watched the following YouTube about responsibility:

December's Du`aa'
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَما أَخَّرْتُ، وَما أَسْرَرْتُ وَما أَعْلَنْتُ، أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
Allāhumma-ghfirlī mā qaddamtu wa mā akhkhartu, wa mā asrartu wa mā a`lantu, antal-Muqaddimu, wa antal-Mu’akhiru, lā ilāha illā ant
“O Allah, forgive me what I have done, before and after, and what I have hidden, and what I have done openly, You are the One Who sends forth and the One Who delays, there is none worthy of worship except You”

The students worked on the Arabic letters in the classroom.
Reading: Read the letter ر & ز with short vowels (fatha, kasra, and dama)
Writing: Practice writing the letter ر & ز in the Arabic workbook.

Orally: Ask the kids what is your name? and how are you? in Arabic. Know the difference between asking a boy or a girl ( feminine and masculine ) كيف حالك ؟ ما اسمـك؟ The kids have to answer in complete sentences.

What day is today? ما اليوم ؟
Show & Tell:
SK2 are doing a wonderful job in their show & tell. Insha’Allah we will continue this activity until the end of the year. The Show & Tell is a part of our week that we all look forward to. Children got to share anything they like to talk about. The main thing I am looking for is to encourage the children to talk in Arabic. They can share their favorite shirts, books, and toys with the class through the means of an oral presentation. Please remember to post your child’s Show & Tell on the fridge to remind him/her of the day they suppose to do their turn.

Math:
We took number Ten and Eleven in addition, we started our measurement unit.The students had lots of fun with many hands on math activities
by learning how to use the scale in measurement.
Guided Reading:
I am working on teaching the SK2 students how to read and write simple words/sentences. We will allow the students to model the teacher by reading simple words/sentences inshaAllah. Below are some of the readings we are doing in class.
SK2 had the chance to listen to different stories about bullying. They
learned what to do in case someone is bullying them! I read the story: لم الاستهزاء والسخرية which talk about
bullying. Please ask your child what they learned from this story.

We reviewed cleanliness by reading a story about this topic.
What is Wudu?
When do we make Wudu?
Sang a song," this is the way we make Wudu". Please ask you child about it.
We also discussed cleanliness is part of one’s Iman.
We had hands on learning by doing wudu. Each student had the chance to do wudu on Friday.
Art/Science:
Winter weather usually becomes very cold, often with snow, sleet, and ice. Heavy clothing helps protect us and keep us comfortable and warm.
We integrated science with Art and we dressed Lolo!!! Please check our bulletin board.

Stars of the Week:
We've had some shining stars in our SK2 classroom. Congratulations to the following students for being the most recent STARS OF THE WEEK are Hamza, Maryam Farah, Sidra, Ibrahim Al-Sadoon. We hope to see many more stars brightening up our SK2 classroom inshaAllah.
The stars of the week will be selected every Friday insha'Allah based on overall behavior throughout the week, homework completion, participation, and acts of kindness.
