SK2 Day 16

Assalamu alaikum!

We would like to say a big WELCOME to our friend Mesk :) nice to have you in SK2 with us!

We had a very productive day today alhamdulillah.  We started off our day finishing off our phonics work in our Jolly Phonics workbooks.  The students came in and found their books open waiting for them!

During Quraan class the students worked on the first 3 ayas of surat Al-Takathur.  Teacher Ibtissam has a very unique way of creating healthy competition between the groups to keep them all motivated.

We read our morning message, and talked about the temperature and how it starts dropping in the fall.  Masha'Allah the students are being excellent meteorologists bringing in news of the day's temperature.  We sang our fall song, and our four season song.

Fall Song

The leaves are falling down.
The leaves are falling down.
Red, yellow, green, and brown.
The leaves are falling down.

Four Seasons

Winter and Spring - Winter and Spring
Summer and Fall - Summer and Fall
These are the four season - These are the four season
We love them all!  - We love them all!

In gym class we did our warm ups, and played some games that will help the children follow instructions in the gym.  This is really important to help ensure the safety of the children during gym time.

We read a big book about Apples, and talked about our favourite kind of apples! You can expect lots of apple talk, and activities during the month of October insha'Allah.

We learned the letter Aa, and the correct formation of the letter in both capital form and lower case form.  We squeezed our brains and brainstormed for Aa-words, the children came up with quite a few masha'Allah.

Outside we had lots of fun playing with the school's parachute in the playground!

In the afternoon we played the game "who is the rock?".

During Arabic class the children were taught how to politely ask for something using the words "minn fathlik".  The students had to complete a tracing sheet that teaches them to trace from right to left.

Have a great evening everyone!
