Assalamu alaikum!
We started off our day today with some educational centres. We focused on the following skills:
-social skills (sharing + problem solving)
-fine motor skills (cutting + pasting)
-math skills (making 2-D shapes on the geoboards)
-fine motor skills (play dough)
In phonics we introduced the letter -Ii and the two sounds it makes, we also brainstormed for words that start with the letter I.
During Arabic class the students worked on a baa-baqara craft.
In the gym we started off with some warm ups, played a very competitive game of duck duck goose. The children also got take part in an obstacle course that helped them work on their gross motor skills. They had to zigzag, hop, run, and throw a ring in order to complete the obstacle course.
The children had outdoor recess today, please make sure your children are dressed appropriately for the weather.
In the afternoon we enjoyed hearing about everyone's Show & Tell. The highlight of today's Show & Tell was meeting Wateen's baby sister who was dressed in red :).
We are working on conflict resolution in the class. Please help your child practice saying "STOP I don't like that" in a strong voice (not yelling), this skill will stay with them throughout their life and it will empower them to react in situations where they don't feel comfortable.
Have a great evening!
